How to Remove Your Name from MS Word Macros

If you create a lot of macros in Word, you’ll probably know that you’re name is recorded as the Author.

The macro begins with a header similar to the following:

‘ Macro1 Macro    ‘ Macro recorded 7/12/2006 by Your Name

From Word’s point of view, it makes sense to keep track of such things.

However, there may be times when you want to remove your name, maybe for security or confidentiality reasons. To remove your name from Word macros or the names of other colleagues, follow these steps:

    1. Open the document that contains the macros.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Macro, and then Visual Basic Editor.
    3. In the project window, double-click the module that contains the macros.how-to-remove-your-name-from-word-macros.JPG
    4. Remove your name from the recorded macro code.
