When copy and pasting shapes from Visio into Microsoft Word, you may get the following error message:
Word is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action.
Even it you cancel the message, it may continue to reappear. Rather than persist, use Task Manager to close Visio and Word.
According to Microsoft, “This problem occurs when you use Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Connection to access both Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services.”
In this case, try to copy the files to your local PC and then perform the cut and paste. Cutting and pasting over networks is best avoided as, if the network is interrupted even for a moment, your computer is likely to crash.
