[How To] Remove Routing Slip Information When Email Documents

If you use a routing slip when emailing a document, the routing information may be attached to the document.

To remove this information from the document, save the document in a format that does not retain routing slip information, such as RTF (Rich Text Format) or HTML. Close the document, and then reopen the new file. Because the routing slip information is no longer present, you can now save your document in the Microsoft Word format.

You can also use the following steps:

  1. Turn off Allow fast saves using the instructions earlier in this article.
  2. On the File menu, point to Send to, and then click Other Routing Recipient.
  3. Click Clear to remove the routing slip. Then click OK.
  4. On the File menu, click Save.

The document is now saved without any routing slip information.
